Do Ebony people get married? That concern has been asked in one form or another in a series of news reports concerning the Ebony wedding “crisis.” At first glance, such tales seem to be concerned about Ebony ladies in search of love, but these media reports have fueled stereotypes about Ebony people. By suggesting that not enough men that are black available to wed, news stories on Black wedding have inked bit more than predict doom and gloom for Black women who hope to marry.
The truth is, Black marriage is not reserved for the kind of Barack and Michelle Obama. Analysis of census information along with other figures has debunked much of the misinformation the news has reported about the Ebony wedding price.
Black Ladies Don’t Marry
The barrage of news reports about the Ebony marriage price gives the impression that Black women’s odds of walking down the aisle are bleak. A Yale University research found that just 42% of Ebony women are hitched, and a variety of high profile news sites such as CNN and ABC picked up that figure and ran with it. Читать далее
